James Anthony Ellis was an award-winning playwright, journalist, poet, and filmmaker who created videos, books, theater, and productions that brought understanding to “what’s really going on” in our society.
As the owner of Legacy Productions, Ellis wrote nine books, as well as produced 20 plays, 2 full length documentaries, 100+ film/video productions and countless articles and columns.
In 2011, he filmed and produced the highly acclaimed “Indoctrinated: The Grooming of our Children,” to bring awareness to a human trafficking problem.
In 2019, Ellis filmed and produced the short documentary “Keeping the Peace: Mental and Emotional Wellness for our Law Enforcement,” which garnered national attention from police agencies in 36 states, as well as Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
A proponent of freedom everywhere, he spent time working with organizations such as IVAT (Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma), MDI (Mentor Discover Inspire) and Boys to Men.
Regarding his poetry, to put it succinctly, James Anthony Ellis loved rhyming stuff, especially when it inspired others in some positive way.
